Is there any better feeling?! 

My latest Makeup Revolution order landed on my doorstep today, and I love it! 

Anyone who knows me, knows I am utterly, completely and totally obsessed with a neutral eye look. It's my go-to. I'm not the bravest with colour when it comes to eyeshadow. So, when Makeup Revolution announced they were releasing the New-trals Vs. Neutrals palette, I knew I needed it in my eyeshadow palette arsenal.

What really drew me to this palette was the idea of a "new wave" of neutrals.. not the normal brown/beige/gold tones of old, but more warm oranges and reds. Admittedly, they're colours I haven't truly experimented with... but this palette made me want to. 

The bottom row comprises of mostly shimmers, in the usual nude and neutral shades. The top row, however, are the new-trals (a very clever play on words), and are all matte, in varying warm tones that compliment the autumn season to perfection. There are endless looks within the New-trals Vs. Neutrals palette, and I'd recommend it to people who are a little afraid of colour like myself, as it's got a wonderful 'starting block' feel to it. Enough to take you slightly out of your comfort zone, without fully leaving you stranded. Pure perfection.

I'm so excited to finally have my hands on this, and even more excited to see what Autumnal looks I can concoct with it!

I'm probably one of the last in the blogging world to post about this, but I simply couldn't resist... 

Everyone and anyone who's at least semi-serious (obsessed) about make up loves, lusts after, or owns at least one of the Urban Decay Naked palettes. A staple of many make up bags, they constantly receive rave reviews, and countless wonderful looks can be created from each of the three palettes. However, with a price tag of £37, they're not quite to everyone's budget, including mine - I think my husband would have a pink fit if I spent almost forty pounds on eyeshadow. Fear not, though, dear reader! There is a more purse-friendly alternative available, in the form of the W7 In The Buff Natural Nudes palette. 

Naturally, I wanted in on this wonderous dupe, and I found it on Amazon for £5.45, with free postage and packaging. The price does fluctuate, and depending where you get it from it may be slightly cheaper, since I've seen people saying they've scooped it up for around £4 before now. Still, coming in at virtually one-seventh of the price of one of the UD Naked palettes, I was extremely happy with my purchase!

The palette contains 12 eyeshadows, consisting of 3 mattes, and 9 shimmer shadows in aptly named shades, offering a wide variety of looks from completely nude to daring yet neutral. 

Admittedly, I haven't swatched the palette yet... I was far too excited, and I just had to post about it, but swatches of this, and comparisons to UDN2 are easily accesible courtesy of our good friend Google, and other talented beauty bloggers. Quite simply though, I'm impressed. For the price, this not only makes a great alternative to the higher end palettes, but also provides an inexpensive starter palette, since everyone needs a nice neutral palette in their collection.

I know it's January, so this isn't really a first impression, since I've had it a month now, but I wanted to post about one of my Christmas gifts, which was one of the Sleek i-Divine mineral based eyeshadow palettes. The one I chose was 'Vintage Romance 141'.

The palette is a good size; not too big to consider using for travel, nor too small that it's not worth having. It's easy enough to hold in your one hand while using the other to apply the shadows, which is a definite plus. The clasp that keeps the lid closed is (almost too) secure too.

The top row is as follows:

'Pretty in Paris' (light silver), 'Meet in Madrid' (light gold), 'Court in Cannes' (slightly darker, more antique gold), 'Lust in L.A.' (earthy gold), 'Romance in Rome' (navy blurple) and 'Propose in Prague' (red-brown). 

The bottom row goes:
'A Vow in Venice' (purple with a brown undertone), 'Marry in Monte Carlo' (pink-purple), 'Honeymoon in Hollywood' (deep pink-purple), 'Bliss in Barcelona' (deep, true purple), 'Forever in Florence' (dark purple) and 'Love in London' (black).

It's incredibly hard to capture the colours accurately, and I'm scared my measly photographs don't do the eyeshadows any justice, but I assure you they're stunning. All of the eyeshadows, except 'Propose in Prague', 'Forever in Florence' and 'Love in London' - which are matte - are shimmer eyeshadows. That said, the latter two have very small specks of glitter in them, giving them a slight metallic quality. The only truly matte shade is 'Propose in Prague'. 

I've actually already used the palette a few times. Swatches will be posted sometime, and probably an EOTD (Eyeshadow of the Day) or two.
